Cosmetic and Reconstructive
Women that are dissatisfied with their breast size and feel that their breasts are too small, too large, are not symmetrical, proportioned correctly, or properly contoured, may, for personal reasons and to enhance self-esteem, consider cosmetic breast surgery as the answer. At the Surgery Center of North Florida, Dr. Brill offers cosmetic and reconstructive surgical procedures which enhance the shape and appearance of your breasts.
Cosmetic Procedures:
Breast enlargement, also known as Augmentation Mammoplasty, with either saline or the FDA approved silicone-gel implants used to enlarge small breasts. Breast reduction surgery can alleviate back and neck pain as well as other physical symptoms caused by excessive breast weight. A breast lift procedure can help reshape breasts that have lost their shape from aging or having children. We offer nipple enhancement for women suffering from asymmetry, troublesome areola coloration, damage to the nipple or loss of a nipple due to abnormal development, injury or disease. We also remove and replace implants for patients who want to increase or decrease in size, correct asymmetry, correct a defective implant, or a number of other factors.
If you are considering a breast enhancement procedure, the following pages will give you a basic understanding of each procedure and may answer some of your initial questions. It is not intended to take the place of an in-office consultation in which we can evaluate your individual condition and discuss each procedure in more detail with you. Dr. Roger T. Brill works closely with each patient to determine what breast size, shape, and silhouette are right; the result of this collaboration is a beautiful, natural looking outcome.
During your consultation we can go over your expectations and tailor the surgical procedure that will work best for you. Our cosmetic breast enhancements:
Reconstructive Procedures:
Even breasts that appear identical, when carefully analyzed, can be seen to be different. Although these differences are often inconsequential, they can be significant enough to be a cause of embarrassment or insecurity. In these cases, surgery can be very effective in improving symmetry and increasing self esteem. Dr. Brill has both the experience and expertise to discuss with you the various options available and which procedures, in combination or alone, that would be best for you.
Reconstructive breast surgery is a surgical procedure that is intended to restore the normal appearance of the breast after surgery, accidental injury, or trauma and is among the most commonly performed surgery in the United States. Sometimes the results can be less than optimal. Capsular contracture, disease, widening of the areola, size issues, and poor scarring are just a few of the many problems that can occur. Roger T. Brill, MD, FACS is sensitive to these problems and understands that the emotional toll on the patient can be significant. As this is a special interest of his, he sees patients who have had surgery from all over the world. From patients who have been operated on in South America (medical tourism), to patients operated on by respected surgeons in the local community, Dr. Brill has used his experience, attention to detail, and caring touch to improve the results of those patients whose outcome was less than what they had hoped for.
Types of reconstruction include Breast Asymmetry, Breast Reconstruction, Breast Reduction, Breast Revision, Mastectomy, Nipple/areola Reconstruction, Reduction, Revision. In addition, Mastopexy or reduction Mammoplasty may be performed in order to achieve symmetry with the reconstructed breasts.
